Tracking your team’s work is about to get easier. We’ve officially released checklists as an add-on feature for our apps.
Workers check off assigned tasks as they go, creating a reliable log of work done onsite. Photos, timestamps, and GPS add transparency and provide proof of presence for your team.

The checklists can be as specific or general as your team needs. List out all the steps for cleaning certain spaces, or outline overall tasks meant to be checked off throughout the day.
You can see all of the work being done onsite through a dashboard of all your checklists. Individual reports give more information on each submission, including any photos or comments:

Reports can export to PDF and spreadsheets, too. As always, you own all of the data you collect through OrangeQC.
Service validation
Checklists are part of the new service validation module. This add-on rounds out the quality control process by tracking work completion and providing proof of presence.
The service validation module’s pricing includes:
- Checklists, with plenty of users for your custodians or other on-the-ground staff to have their own logins for accurate tracking.
- Visit tracking logs that link work performed onsite (including inspections) to a record of visits. This provides proof of presence, as well as a picture of the whole team’s work onsite.
- QR code shortcuts that help everyone find the right forms fast.
Why checklists?
The short answer: Our teams kept asking for them.
The longer answer: Service validation has increasingly become part and parcel of quality control. Customers and organizations are writing this type of validation into contracts and RFPs. Ontario has even begun requiring most employers to make restroom cleaning records available through provisions in Bill 190 that amend the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
This trend comes as work continues to be less centralized. Additionally, some of the most important elements of cleaning, such as disinfection, can’t be seen with the naked eye. Creating a log of service is a step towards transparency that also protects teams if problems arise at the building.
We can’t tell you how many stories our customers have shared with us about the relief of being able to pull up an inspection with photos, timestamps, and GPS that shows a space was spick-and-span when they left it.
We’ve always been laser-focused on quality control for cleaning teams. OrangeQC isn’t an all-in-one solution, but we want it to be the best solution when it comes to quality control. As best-in-class janitorial and facilities teams continue to embrace service validation, we’re rounding out our features. Now, frontline staff are looped into the QC process.
Keeping it simple
At every step along the way, we’ve challenged ourselves to keep things simple and streamlined to use. We knew the tool needed to be fast, easy-to-use, and intuitive. That’s a non-negotiable for staff who are literally working with their hands all day.
So far, the teams testing these tools have had great things to report, especially as we improve and refine the technology based on feedback. We’re excited to bring the power and simplicity of OrangeQC to custodial, maintenance, and other on-the-ground staff.
